Friday, 6th November 2015 Autumn leaves are falling but thoughts are on summer 2016

I guess many people in England are planning Guy Fawkes celebrations this weekend. As I child, I remember enjoying firework displays in our back garden with neighbours and family and I can still recall the smell of the bonfire and the jacket potatoes roasting in their skins whilst making fun shapes with a hand held sparkler. Here in Mallorca we build huge bonfires in the middle of the streets during January in the villages of Pollensa, Puerto Pollensa and Sa Pobla to celebrate San Antonio. Over recent years this has become a popular event with visitors, maybe because its rather nice to have something to look forward to after the Christmas festivities have finished! Spectacular firework displays are often the final event of the village fiestas across the Island and are most certainly not to be missed. Its an amazing experience to see the resort beaches full of families at midnight and the buzz of anticipation as the show begins.

There is definately a buzz of anticipation in Mallorca for a bumper summer in 2016 as families look for a safe and secure destination for their annual holidays. I have noticed an increase in advance bookings so I really do suggest that its best not to delay in confirming your reservation to avoid any disappointment.
