Friday, 2nd February 2024 A Truly Fabulous Holiday Is Not Only About…
OUR FAVOURITE VENUES
A truly fabulous holiday is not only about choosing comfortable quality accommodation to suit your needs in a stunning location. Most people also rate their holiday success on great weather and a varied gastronomic offering.
Sadly, despite over 30 years experience of guiding guests to achieve their dream stay these aspects were sadly missing on my own recent holiday out of Europe!
Living in Mallorca I guess we take the amazing choice of restaurants serving inspirational food for granted. My partner and I love to combine a little excursion with a leisurely lunch or evening meal. I thought I would share with you just a few of our favourite venues.
MARE NOSTRUM

SA POBLA is not the most picturesque village but it is most probably where the potatoes you purchase at your local supermarket come from! The centre of the Mallorcan agriculture industry with regular exportation of potatoes across Europe. A beautifully reformed townhouse is the surprising setting to experience an amazing tasting menu. Advance booking essential.
LA SANTA BAR DE PLAYA

ALCUDIA two restaurants here. Both offering stunning sea views. Firstly Playa de Muro is our favourite beach with its long golden sands and cristal clear seas. Understandably it was recently voted one of the top beaches in the world! Who does not love a relaxing lunch with sand between their toes? Check out LA SANTA BAR DE LA PLAYA a popular beach bar with chilled vibes, sea breeze and great food. I can never resist the lime pie!
RESTAURANTE LA TERRAZA

For a special occasion we head to TERRAZA ALCANADA for excellent service and sea food specialities. Recently we have enjoyed the more relaxed ambience of their Bistro too. Both terraces offer a great location to admire the spectacular sun set across the Bay of Pollensa.
CASSAI BEACH HOUSE
COLONIA SAN JORDI Where? I hear you ask. An unspoiled traditional coastal town where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll with nature and glimpse the Island of Cabrera. In the summer months, we enjoy a refreshing dip directly in front of the restaurant. CASSAI BEACH HOUSE offers an attractive décor, bistro vibes, local banter and sea views. They have 2 sister restaurants close by too.
EL VASCO

SOLLER and PORT DE SOLLER are one of our favourite spots for a wander any time of the year. A stroll along the attractive sea front promenade or dodging the trams in the old town is often proceeded or followed by a visit to EL VASCO, located at the entrance to the Soller tunnel. A large buzzing restaurant with different seating areas making it feel intimate. This vibrant atmosphere along with Mallorcan and Basque regional specialities ensures there is something for everyone. Amazing cuts of meat or fish dishes are all served to perfection. They have sister restaurants in Palma.
All this fabulous food should of course be accompanied by excellent Mallorcan wine. Did you know there are over 50 wine cellars on the Island? The quality is impressive. If you have never experienced a wine tasting tour then make sure you book one for your next visit. I cannot recommend highly enough the tastings at CAN AXARTELL between Campanet and Pollença and the oldest bodega on the Island RIBAS.
